Our Floating Heart Necklace is a beautiful piece created with silver glass seed and round beads, hematite beads, brilliant blue Czech fire polish beads and cathedral beads, and last, but certainly not least, an eye-catching heart pendant.
Cathedral beads are unique in shape. They usually start as a smooth, round bead, but are then cut to have facets along the middle. The facets give the beads a more antique, gothic look, traditionally seen in old cathedrals. The cathedrals in this necklace feature an antique silver-toned etching at each end.
That color is reinforced by the iron-colored hematite gemstone beads which border the ends of each cathedral. To brighten up the gravity of the darker tones, I utilized lighter blue glass beads which add a bit of sparkle. The silver glass seed beads unify the color palette.
The pendant, of course, is the heart of the 21 1/2-inch necklace. Pun very much intended! It’s off-center orientation immediately demands attention. Small daisy flowers are embossed on both sides adding nice detail to the low maintenance silver alloy charm. I chose a wonderful flower motif silver alloy clasp which picks up on the pendant.
Come to think of it, our Floating Heart Necklace is really all about hearts AND flowers! A perfect gift for someone you care about.
